When I dropped him off at school, we were sad to learn the trip to the garden this morning was cancelled. It's too bad, but it made sense since it rained a bit around 5AM.

Instead, they would go to Firemen's Park in Middleton, next to the high school, and then swimming at the high school

This next photo is from the school. Looks like they stayed inside for the first bit of the day.

While Kai was at school, I took a quick walk. Just outside our neighborhood, they're building a duplex on a plot of land. It is a bit controversial since it is in with an older very small neighborhood in the Town of Middleton. The land had been vacant for many years and they had to cut down some very old evergreens.

During the warm part of the day, most students went to the high school to swim in their pool. We've never been there, and neither has Kai apparently. He stayed playing at the playground outside. When I saw him at the end of the day, the teacher let us know that he cut himself on some LEGO edges, and didn't want those to be exposed to the water/chlorine, because it would hurt on those cuts.

When we got home, we saw the turtle again, this time it is on our lawn.

I had some errands to run, before I picked up Kai. One of my instructions was to pick up a small dessert. I picked out a winner, Black Forest Torte from Clasen's.

I was told it tasted like Uncle Carl's - a nice European, not overly sweet cake
