This is a countdown of days until the next school year. Now that July 4 is upon us, "Back to School" sales are definitely going to make their reappearance.

Just a few photos from today.

This morning we had an Augmentin challenge at the allergist office.

This was just to rule out a potential allergy. Procedurally, they gave him 10% of the Augmentin dose, then waited 15 minutes to check for reaction, then they gave him the remaining 90% of the dose.

In the meantime, we watched "Raya and the Last Dragon," a favorite movie of ours.

Just don't drink the water at the Dr. office.

At night, he was most interested in creating a LEGO building. He didn't let us see it until he was done. He took this picture.

Not sure what our plans for July 4th are. We'll be ready to be surprised.

Feels like a Monday, but it is Tuesday and Kai is at school. It continues to rain, so they watched Inside Out at school today. I do think they got some time outdoors, but no pictures.

When we got home, he wanted to put together some LEGO again. This one is a Minecraft one.

he completed this 200 piece LEGO tonight

We have more videos today than pictures, but that is okay.

He wanted to pop one of his birthday balloons, specifically the ones with blue confetti. I made this one slow motion.

Here is that rain again.

I didn't test the sump pump this spring since it was so dry last year. Then this year it just started raining. I'm still thinking that the last time it ran so much, that was about a foot of water over the course of a day in August 2018. Today, the rain will tally only about 3 inches, and the retention pond seems to be doing a good job of getting the water out of our neighborhood. The sump pump was replaced in 2019 or 2020, and apparently the average lifespan is 10 years, so if called upon, I believe it will work. I did test it in 2023 (it worked then).

Tomorrow we go for a quick allergy test for Augmentin.

Today is Kai's birthday. I know because the toaster strudel has his name on them.

the one on the right has his name

After breakfast, he opened his birthday card. I made him this one with a pop-up dragon. It was fun to make.

He also got some a big brick of LEGO. It is just a variety set that allows you to make a bunch of freeform objects. He's wanted something like this for a long time.

We had a little bit of a struggle to find what we would do today. The one thing we could agree on was pizza. We went to Ian's Pizza at the Garver Feed Mill. They have his favorite, the macaroni and cheese pizza.

After lunch, we went to Olbrich Gardens for a walk. The temperature was nice and comfortable and the gardens were abloom. Both Kai and Heidi took a lot of photos. Here are some...

When we got home, we had the traditional chair picture next to the hydrangea.

We also opened more presents. Kai got a magic wand that he liked putting spells on people. One of the spells either gave you or treated you for pink eye. Heidi got that one a lot. I got a spell that got my tongue stuck to the top of my mouth.

Finally, he got this cool rocket toy that would allow you to use your foot to propel it up to the sky. They enjoyed that this evening.
