61

Today is the 4th of July.

We didn't have any real plans to start out with, but what we did ended up working out just right.

In the morning, we worked on "thank you" cards from Kai's birthday. We had some bug stamps that we got to try out on the cards.

The Middleton swimming pool was open from 1PM to 4PM - we were there for the whole timeframe.

Kai went on the waterslide probably 30 times. He really enjoyed it. I'm not sure he was tall enough last year.

His friends Evie and Audra were also there. That was an unplanned lucky coincidence that he had someone to play with.

At around 3:57 (3 minutes early), they can to get everyone out because it started raining really strong.

After the pool, we played with the neighbor a little bit. We still had to get in our annual July 4 photo.

It is supposed to storm tonight, so I'm hoping the gnome can hold onto the flag.

We have made it a tradition to watch "A Capitol Fourth" on PBS. It is normally a good program and you aren't fighting traffic when it is done.

after a busy day, Kai fell asleep during the presentation

I am always wondering if the performance is live, or nearly live...regardless, it was "Busier than usual" in DC tonight.

Local fireworks appear to be happening tonight, but some locations have moved up the show 15 minutes to try to get people out before the storms.
